CableSketch Pro is a calculation aid. It is not a substitute for engineering judgment. The licensed engineer using the tool retains full professional responsibility for their design.
1. Scope of the tool
CableSketch Pro computes steady-state cable ampacity per the methodology described at /methodology. Results are computed from the inputs you provide.
2. Real-world deviations
Deviations from real-world performance are possible due to factors outside the model — soil moisture variation, installation defects, ambient changes, mutual heating from cables not represented in the project, and other site-specific conditions. The licensed engineer is responsible for accounting for these in their design margin.
3. Engineering responsibility
The engineer using CableSketch Pro is responsible for:
- Verifying that the input parameters reflect the actual installation.
- Applying appropriate safety and design margins per the governing code.
- Cross-checking CableSketch Pro results against published NEC tables or independent calculations as required by their jurisdiction and firm practice.
- The final design decision, regardless of what CableSketch Pro reports.
4. As-is, no warranty
The Service is provided "as is" with no warranty of fitness for any particular purpose. Deliverable Labs and CableSketch Pro are not liable for design decisions made using the tool.
